A customer has gone viral for revealing the unusual item she uses to make her Aldi shop easier – but fair warning, you might get a few weird looks.

Aldi might be famous for its low prices, but if you’ve ever shopped there you will know that paying for your groceries can be a rather stressful process.

The German supermarket is famous for its conveyor belt checkouts which see staff scan products at lightning speed, with customers encouraged to pack their own groceries at a bench afterwards.

Many shoppers have attempted to ‘beat the system’, using everything from laundry baskets to plastic tubs at Aldi checkouts to make their shop easier.

Buying groceries also gets that extra bit harder when you don’t have a car, as you can’t exactly use a shopping trolley to get your food home.

But one Aldi shopper in the UK has shared probably the most unique way to carry her groceries in a video that’s gone viral on TikTok.

Shopper @lydiajaynem posted a video showing how she used a suitcase on wheels – yes, actual luggage – to do her Aldi shop.

The video showed her heading to the supermarket, suitcase in tow, to get her groceries.

After paying, she took her groceries in her suitcase over to the bench to pack properly, before returning home.

While @lydiajaynem said an “old man had laughed at me” for having a suitcase, the whole trip was a “success”.

“Work smarter,” she captioned the video, which has since been viewed more than 600,000 times.

Viewers said her suitcase trick was something that “feels illegal but isn’t” and was “so smart”.

“This is why I have one of those ‘granny’ shopping trolleys! So handy, mine has a funky cat pattern on it so I [feel] fab using it,” another said.

“OMG I did this and was such a lifesaver when I went to uni!” one person commented.

“I don’t know why someone would laugh – it makes perfect sense,” another wrote.

Back in 2020 one mum went viral on Facebook for sharing the unique way she packed her Aldi groceries.

In a post in the Aldi Mums Facebook group, one woman shared how she had taken to using two large plastic tubs with handles whenever she shopped at the discount supermarket chain.

The tubs “fit perfectly into the trolley and so easy to get in and out of the car”, according to the mum.

“I put the heaviest items in the front tub so that they come out first onto the belt and then I distribute the heavy things evenly into the two tubs after they’ve been swiped through the register,” she said. “You’ll be surprised how much you can fit into them.”

The shopper then simply lifted the plastic tubs straight out of her trolley and into her car boot.

A Kiwi mum says she is often mistaken for being her son’s little sister thanks to her youthful looks.

Australian influencer Mikaela Testa has sparked concern among fans after posting a video showin her crying on a Mykonos beach.

As the country is still reeling at the price of lettuce, one Woolworths shopper has shared her shock at the huge cost of yet another vegetable.
