Ammeraal Beltech, part of the Ammega Group and a prominent manufacturer and fabricator of lightweight conveyor belting, recently announced that it is establishing a new production facility. The Buford, Georgia-based facility will manufacture a wide selection of synthetic conveyor belts.

This expansion bolsters Ammeraal Beltech’s continued growth in the U.S. It joins facilities in Skokie, Illinois; Lackawanna, New York; Grand Prairie, Texas; and the Pennsylvania cities of Reading and Jefferson.

“We are excited to expand our Americas’ infrastructure to provide a new level of service and response to our distributor and OEM customer base,” says Vice President and General Manager of the Ammeraal Beltech Conveying Solutions business Niels van den Boogert.

Operations at the new multi-phase production site in Georgia are scheduled to begin in the autumn of this year. The company is currently hiring new employees to work at the Buford facility.

“Working with our global customers and leading research institutions, Ammeraal Beltech has developed conveyor belts that address the changing needs of the industries we serve,” says Steve Facetti, vice president of marketing in the Americas at Ammega, the parent organization of Ammeraal Beltech. “Within our business-built R&D centers, we are continuously working to optimize our products to meet new challenges such as higher operating temperatures, longer life expectancy, lower noise levels, the need for increased cleanability, and more stringent standards of hygiene and safety. This new facility will be a great representation of Ammeraal Beltech’s commitment to be located near its key markets.”

“The Ammega journey started two years ago with a burning passion to be the best in belting. To be the best, customers and channel partners come first,” explains Tom Doring, president of the Americas and member of Ammega’s Global Executive Committee. “The lightweight belting industry is asking for innovation and faster delivery in a cost-effective manner. This investment will allow us to take what our industry considers great and make it normal. I am excited about this expansion as it is another way we demonstrate our commitment to supporting our customers and channel partners.”

Ammeraal Beltech was established in the Netherlands in 1950 and has gone on to become a leading designer, manufacturer, and fabricator of rubber and synthetic conveyor belts, modular belts, and positive drive belts around the world. These belts can be found in such markets as automotive and corrugated manufacturing, fitness equipment, food processing, logistics operations, and packaging operations.

The company has more than 3,000 employees across 25 countries. Its conveyor belts are available worldwide thanks to its 10 production factories and 80 fabrication and sales facilities.

A renowned manufacturer of lightweight conveyor belts, modular belts, and engineered belts, Ammeraal Beltech joins Megadyne’s Power Transmission business and Jason Industrial Fluid Power Business, creating the Ammega Group, which is located in Zug, Switzerland, and owned by Partners Group since 2018.

Today, the Ammega Group has 6,000 employees, 20 manufacturing factories, and 150 commercial facilities worldwide.
