A seed production worker was flown from the scene of an accident Friday at Utica. Fire Chief Ben Brown said the unidentified woman was working at one of the dryers on the west side of Pioneer Hybrids. This work position is several feet above the main floor.

Shortly before 3pm, fellow workers called for help after the woman's arm got caught in a conveyor. Utica, La Salle, Oglesby and Peru assisted as did Conservation and Utica police. The 25-year old was flown to OSF St. Francis with a serious arm injury. Brown said it took an hour to free the woman from the conveyor.
