NANJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ASEAN Plus Three or 10+3) on Friday proposed joint initiatives for strengthening industrial chain and supply chain cooperation.

The initiatives were made by trade and investment promotion organizations, chambers of commerce and trade associations at the ASEAN Plus Three forum on industrial chain and supply chain cooperation in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province.

The initiatives include upgrading the regional industrial chain and supply chain, ensuring unimpeded and swift international logistics, expanding cooperation in the green economy, promoting the development of the digital economy and actively building enterprise service platforms.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of cooperation among ASEAN Plus Three countries. These countries have been adhering to the values of openness, inclusiveness and cooperation while promoting regional economic and trade cooperation, and have become the key force for safeguarding and stabilizing the global industrial chain and supply chain over the past years, said Li Fei, assistant commerce minister.

Over the years, China has become the largest trading partner of Japan, the Republic of Korea and ASEAN, while ASEAN has become the largest trading partner of China, Li said. ■
